About

Yoav Asif is a singer-songwriter who creates, plays, and mixes his own songs from within his intimate studio. His songs delve into the themes of peace and war, love and childhood, as well as life's struggles and moments of joy. At a young age, he began studying classical piano at a conservatory, but it was during his teenage years that he started playing the guitar, bass, and drums. Asif grew up in Haifa, where he studied law at a university and worked as a lawyer before deciding to move to Tel Aviv (the big city) to pursue his passion for music.

After volunteering as a musician for a local theater, he was invited to play keyboards with the renowned Yehuda Poliker for seven years, performing on stages such as the Amphipark Cesarea, Sultan's Pool, Hangar 11, the Heical Hatarbut, and Zappa. He collaborated with notable producers like Louis Lahav (known for his work with Bruce Springsteen) and Yaakov Gilad (as part of the audio-tech company Waves Audio).

Almost immediately after transitioning towards music, he established his studio, "HAULPANIYA" where he composes, arranges, produces, and mixes music for artists and commercial brands. After spending several years engaged in these activities and continuing to maintain them, Yoav decided it was time to step onto the forefront of the stage.

A few months ago, he released his debut single, "Now It's My Turn," in memory of the fallen Israeli soldier Adi Leon, which received widespread airplay on local radio stations and national television.

Now, he is releasing "SOLDIER J", a song where he calls on all soldiers to hold onto hope for better days ahead.

Soldier J - New Song Coming Soon!

I'm excited to announce that on May 7, 2024, I will release a new song called 'SOLDIER J', which I am very excited about

Forging My Own Path

The lights sparkled, and the audience filled the venue by the thousands. The drummer beside me on stage had been someone I admired since childhood, and the renowned artist at the forefront was instantly recognizable to everyone. For seven years, I shared the stage with him at major stages. Together, we released several albums and performed numerous shows, each time refining our craft for the fans, the nation, and the people. I gained profound insights from him about the cost of fame, self-fulfillment, pursuing your goals, and love. Above all, I learned the significance of following your own path to the very end. After many rewarding years with Yehuda Poliker and Alon Hillel (who remains a dear and cherished friend), I now feel it is time for me to forge my own path.

An Old Saying Gets Better

On November 30, 2024, I had the privilege of performing at the unveiling ceremony of the tombstone honoring Adi Leon, a soldier, fighter, and hero who lost his life in the battles in Gaza. I sang 'Now It's My Turn,' a song I composed using Adi's last words, and shared a few words in his memory. During my speech, I expressed that the familiar phrase 'We have no other country' can no longer stand alone but must include Adi's poignant addition: 'Now it's my turn to protect it.' Adi's profound words have given new depth and meaning to this well-known phrase for me.

HAULPANIYA

yoav asif production house

"HAULPANIYA" is my intimate production house and recording studio. To me, it's like a home—always welcoming with open arms. I established it to successfully record and release my music to the world. However, over the years, word spread, and various talented musicians, directors, artists, and producers began to visit.

Each of them was seeking a unique approach to their projects. Some requested that I arrange violin and wind instrument parts, while others wanted me to record the piano, bass, guitars, or even drums. Some asked me to mix their songs on my analog console, while others requested that I compose and produce an original soundtrack for their play or movie.

Studio

Thanks to "Haulpaniya," I've met inspiring people who have become some of my best friends over the years. Today, I get the feeling that "Haulpaniya" for them is what it was to me when it all began—a home.

If you feel the studio and I can assist you with anything, feel free to leave a message.
